Review: The Assassin and the Desert

The Assassin and the Desert
The Assassin and the Desert by Sarah J. Maas

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This one was a little rough in the beginning but it ended up being really good. I think this one really hit its’ stride when Celaena began to settle into the Silent Assassin community. This Celaena felt more like the one I know from the main series books and I think that was a big part of why I enjoyed this one as well. I wasn’t a huge fan of Ilias and the partial relationship he had with Celaena or the random market scene but other than that, I really liked this one. Once I hit the stride in this one, I actually finished it pretty fast which was surprising considering how much trouble I have had getting into and sticking with books lately. Definitely the best one in this collection so far.
